A Drawing Book

This self-published art book grew out of my experience tutoring special needs children, where I saw how creativity could become a powerful tool for communication, confidence, and self-expression. The project was inspired by the small but meaningful moments in those sessions—unexpected color choices, playful mark-making, and the ways students interpreted prompts in uniquely personal ways.

Throughout the design process, I focused on creating an environment that felt encouraging rather than instructional. The layouts balance structure with flexibility, allowing each page to feel guided but not restrictive. The book combines friendly typography, soft but vibrant color palettes, and intuitive visual hierarchy to support children's understanding. I prioritized legibility and pacing, using spacing, repetition, and simple visual cues to make the content easy to navigate. This project challenged me to think beyond aesthetics and consider how design can actively support creativity and engagement.
